Bowl

The bowl is complete; it has been broken and repaired with glue. It is circular in shape, with a wing with a raised rim and undulating top. The wing is narrow and inclined inwards, the wall is flared towards the wing and curves towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, it rests on an annular foot whose fulcrum is free of glaze. The center is recessed and flat. The foot is imprinted with fine gravel. The rim has lost some of its glaze ; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue on the front and reverse. The molded decoration is in the form of a vertical bulge on the inside, and recessed on the outside. The painted decoration is vegetal, in the Kraak style from China. The inner surface of the object is entirely decorated. The painted decoration is delimited by a wavy line around the edge and a plain line around the bottom. The wing and wall are decorated with compartments of two different sizes, delimited by vertical lines. The wider ones feature a flowering stem alternating with a leafy stem, while the narrower ones are closed at each end by dashes and house a stem. The central decoration is encircled by a ring. It features a bird in profile on a rock, surrounded by leafy stems. The outer surface of the object is entirely decorated. The painted decoration is bordered by a wavy line near the edge and a plain line near the base of the wall. The wing and wall are decorated with compartments of two different sizes, delimited by vertical lines. The wider ones house an object or a flower, in alternation; each object is different and ribboned, and approaches the emblems of the Eight Immortals if not the Eight Precious Objects. The narrowest are closed at each end by dashes and house a stem. The decoration has run all over, especially on the outer wall.
