Bowl
The bowl is complete. It is circular with a straight rim. In cross-section, the wall is flared at the top, the rim is straight and the top is domed. The wall curves towards the bottom, resting on a small annular foot. The bottom is recessed and slightly domed at the center. The bowl has two horizontal ears below the outer rim, with a slightly domed face and flat underside, and a three-lobed tip. The body is orange-red. The outer surface and ears are covered with white slip; the inner surface and underside are slip-free but covered with glaze; the decoration is plastered and molded. The outer wall of the bowl is covered with a white slip and a colorless glaze. Copper, iron and cobalt oxides have been mixed with this glaze, creating clouds of color on the bowl’s outer surface. The white slip also covers the surface of the bowl’s wings or ears.
