Black and white photograph. Rapides des Grès in 1912, before Shawinigan Water and Power built the La Gabelle hydroelectric power station (1924) in the early 1920s. Owned today by Hydro-Québec, this power station, still in operation, is located on the Saint-Maurice between the villages of Saint-Étienne-des-Grès and Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, north of Trois-Rivières.
