Black and white photograph. Rapides des Grès (Gress rapids as inscribed by H.S.) in 1912, prior to the construction of the La Gabelle hydroelectric power station (1924) by Shawinigan Water and Power in the early 1920s. Owned today by Hydro-Québec, this power station, still in operation, is located on the Saint-Maurice between the villages of Saint-Étienne-des-Grès and Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, north of Trois-Rivières.
