Historical context
The Olympic torch for the 1976 Montreal Games was designed by Quebecer Michel Dallaire. Dallaire is an industrial designer who has designed the city’s most important events. A graduate of Stockholm’s École supérieure des arts industriels, he helped design some of the pavilions at Expo 67 and the furniture for the Olympic Village.
