Jug reproduction
The jug is complete. It is circular in shape. The shoulder is rounded, the neck long and slightly constricted, topped by a straight, recessed neck with a small spout, and the top flat. The wall is domed and narrowed at the base. The base is slightly swollen and rests on a flat, unglazed base. The handle is vertical. Oval in shape and cross-section, its upper end is attached to the neck below the neck, while the other is folded down and rests on the shoulder; it has been flattened. There are incised marks under the base, including an inscription in two registers: REINHMERKELBACH HÖHR-GRENZHAUSEN; ¼ L.; The decoration is turned, incised and painted. It is geometric. It is visible under the neck, on the neck and on the outer wall. Under the neck, set back from the collar, it consists of a ribbon with an incised edge and a blue-painted center. On the neck, the decoration consists of a row of incised, blue-painted lozenges, resting on a ribbon with an incised border and blue-painted center. The wall opposite the handle features a checkerboard pattern on a floral motif, incised and painted blue. The base is decorated with two superimposed concave ribbons painted blue. The ends of the handle are enhanced by blue-painted lines.
