Soup plate
The plate is complete; there are some cracks around the rim. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the sides are socked and the bottom is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small ring-shaped foot, which is free of glaze. There is a small flaw in the paste on the inner base. The decoration is traced and hand-painted in underglaze blue. The decoration covers the rim and bottom of the plate. It features floral and carp motifs. The border is composed of a diamond latticework braid underlined by a fillet. The background decoration is encircled by a double ring. It is composed of triangular elements: a leafy, flowering stem, a carp and a crab, with small plant groups between them. The rim of the plate is covered with an iron-brown coating.
