Soup plate
The plate is complete; a long crack has been repaired with what appears to be glue and plaster. It is circular in shape, with a plain rim. On the front, the rim is narrow and flat, and the high wall slopes towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, the plate rests on a milled foot, the base of which is unglazed; the bottom is recessed and flat. The body is beige, and the object is covered with a bluish-white enamel. There are three traces of a pernette in a triangular pattern on the reverse. The enamel around the rim has partially disappeared ; The decoration is hand-painted in cobalt blue, underglaze. It is of the scenic Chinese animal type. The decoration is found on both the rim and the base. The border is decorated with a fillet near the edge, bordering a row of Ruyi heads. The background is decorated with an animal scene, bordered by a double ring supporting a cross. It consists of a terrace on which stands a peacock in profile, its head turned back towards a large flower surrounded by leafy stems mounted on a cross-shaped geometric form; in the background there is a stylized rock with holes and a willow tree. There is an iron-brown coating around the perimeter of the plate.
