Soup plate
The plate is complete; there are two cracks on the marli and a chip on the reverse of the rim. It is circular in shape with an undulating rim. The rim is slightly swollen on the face. The marli slopes slightly inwards, while the high wall curves towards the slightly domed base. On the reverse, the plate rests on a small ring-shaped foot. The bottom is recessed and flat. There are slight flaws in the glaze of the inner base. The plate is slightly stained with iron rust ; The decoration is molded and applied by transfer printing. The molded decoration can be seen on the wavy outline of the plate, in the King pattern. The decoration is black with an antique motif (Corinthian Ruins). The printed decoration is visible on the inner border and on the inner base. The decoration on the marli consists of six leafy, flowering stems; four are identical and arranged on the sides, while the other two, which are different, are on the upper and lower parts of the marli. The background features, on the right, the portico of a ruined ancient temple, in front of which are two male figures dressed in antique style, one seated on an ashlar and the other standing on a grassy terrace. They are flanked on the left by shrubs and a tree. In the background flows a river crossed by a double-arched bridge; on the other bank rises a high mountain. The setting is clear.
