The Changing Scene / Changement de Scène
Lithograph reproduction: A large number of historic and decorative buildings throughout the city have been demolished to be replaced by expressways, skyscrapers and parking lots. The Mount Stephen Club on Drummond Street escaped this fate. It was in this house that Lord Mount Stephen, one of the founders of the C.P.R., originally lived. There are few buildings in Montreal whose architecture surpasses it in elegance. This is the Club as seen from the main entrance to Sir George Williams University, across the street.
