The Changing Scene / Changement de Scène
Reproduction of lithograph: Windsor Station seen from de la Cathédrale Street, looking west on St-Antoine. This scene will soon be joined by a skyscraper to be known as Place du Canada. All the buildings in the foreground are being demolished to make way for a building that will house offices, a shopping plaza and the new 38-storey C.P.R. hotel, the Château Champlain. Three well-known historic buildings will disappear: Parker House, Welcome Hall Mission and the “Mother Martin” restaurant at the corner of Windsor Street.
