Tea bowl

The tea bowl is complete; it has a small crack. It is circular in shape. In profile, the bowl has a wall that flares slightly at the top, topped by a flared rim with a corrugated top. The lower part of the wall curves towards the flat bottom. The bowl rests on a solid ring-shaped foot. The outer rim of the foot is beveled and free of glaze; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome enamels of pink, green, white and black. The molded decoration is visible on the top of the rim and on the wall: the top is wavy and trimmed with small spikes, which extend into a domed rib on the outer wall. The painted decoration is floral, in the Famille rose style. The decoration is painted under the inner rim and base, and on the outer wall. Under the inner rim, it consists of a braid traced in red and trimmed with a latticework of four-petal flowers traced in red on a pink background. The center of the background is adorned with a group of flowers painted pink, yellow and white, among stems traced in black and leaves painted green. The decoration on the outer wall is composed of two elements: a ribbon topped by panels. The ribbon, traced in red, is wavy and adorned with two types of flowers painted pink and bordered by leaves traced in black and painted green. The wall is divided into vertical panels traced in red, each adorned with a leafy, flowering stem, in three patterns painted pink in two cases, and yellow in the other, which are repeated in alternation.
