Tea bowl
The bowl is complete; a break has been repaired with glue. It is cylindrical in shape. Its wall is flared at the top, and its rim is flared. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. The object rests on a ring-shaped foot, whose fulcrum is free of glaze. The underside of the base is recessed and flat; the decoration is hand-painted in polychrome of underglaze blue and overglaze red and gold. The decoration is plant-like, in the Japanese Imari style. The decoration on the outer surface is encircled by two blue-painted fillets. The top of the outer wall has a blue background, with ovals and half-ovals in reserve, each adorned with a flower traced in red and painted in orange or gilding. The blue background is also covered with gold-painted foliage. The blue background is interrupted by two spearhead motifs in reserve on opposite sides, with two rectangular geometric motifs between them, similar to an open book. The spearhead motifs are adorned with leafy stems painted in blue and flowers traced in red and painted in orange or gold. Other reserve shapes feature long, leafy stems painted blue and flowers outlined in red and painted orange or gold. The inner background, framed by a wide blue-painted ring, is decorated with blue-painted leafy stems and flowers outlined in red and painted in orange and gilding. Two superimposed fillets run around the outside of the foot.
