Tea bowl

The bowl is complete, with a few cracks in the wall. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, with a straight rim and a plain top. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. The bowl rests on a ring-shaped foot, the inside of which is beveled. The bottom is recessed and slightly domed. There are slight flaws on the outer wall. The bowl is slightly deformed. There is an incised central conical depression in the center of the bottom. The inner base shows numerous linear marks. The inner glaze is cracked and the body is stained; the decoration is hand-painted in cobalt blue, underglaze. It is of the Chinese house type. The decoration under the inner rim is a double lattice ribbon with a central cross; it is underlined by a fillet. The decoration on the inner base consists of a terrace made of four superimposed bands, surmounted by a central rock surrounded by sections of fence. The main decoration on the outer wall consists of a terrace featuring an oriental-style house topped by a tower. This is a three-quarter view of the house, with its gable wall and side wall. The gable wall has a door, as does the side wall. The roof is double-pitched, with a pillar at each end. It is topped by a vertical tower with a square window and covered by a flattened triangular roof. The house is adjoined by a fence made of vertical boards and a horizontal beam. Various grasses and trees grow beyond the fence sections, including a willow tree on the right. Stylized birds twirl in the sky. The terrace is underlined by a row of four triangles made of superimposed lines and pointing downwards. The secondary decoration consists of a triangle supporting a central rock and stylized plants.
