Tea bowl

The tea bowl is complete. It is circular with a rippled rim. It has a slightly flared wall at the top and a base that curves towards the flat bottom. It rests on a ring-shaped foot, free of glaze. The underside of the base is recessed and flat; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue. The molded decoration is visible on the rim and wall. The painted decoration covers the inner rim and base, as well as the outer wall. It features a plant motif. The molded decoration features an undulating rim that extends into two rows of small vertical undulations on the inner wall. The base of the outer wall features a row of small vertical incisions. The painted decoration below the inner rim is a braid made up of two series of diagonal lines, alternating in one direction and then the other. The inner base is decorated with a leafy, flowering stem in a double ring. The decoration on the outer wall extends from the rim to the bottom. Below the rim is a horizontal fillet. The main decoration is composed of two distinct elements. First, there are four rectangular medallions, made of a straight double line, but which is wavy at the top; each medallion is adorned with a small solid terrace, supporting short grasses and a leafy, flowering plant. The space between each medallion is occupied by an elongated, leafy, flowering plant. All these elements rest on a small painted net.
