Tea bowl

The tea bowl is complete. The bowl is circular in shape. In profile, the bowl has a slightly flared wall topped by a straight rim. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is flat. The bowl rests on a solid ring-shaped foot. The base is free of glaze. There are flaws in the glaze under the base, and flaws in the paste inside. There are small marks on the inner base ; The decoration is painted on the glaze; it is pink lustre and non-lustre, with an English rural motif. The decoration is visible on the rim, inner wall and base, as well as on the outer wall and the outer edge of the foot. A fillet covers the top of the rim and extends in a wide band over the inner and outer edges. The decoration on the inner wall consists of a horizontal fillet. The decoration on the outer wall consists of two rural scenes on opposite sides. One scene is composed of two terraces separated by a space in reserve. The lower terrace is undulating; painted in glossy and non-glossy pink, it is decorated with a rural fence and shrubs. The space between the terraces is painted pale pink. The upper terrace is almost flat, supporting a three-quarter view of a thatched cottage with a high chimney; it is surrounded by trees and overhung by clouds. The other scene is also composed of two terraces separated by a space in reserve. The lower terrace is undulating; painted in gloss and non-gloss pink, it is adorned with a rural fence and shrubs. The space between the terraces is painted pale pink. The upper terrace is almost flat; it supports a thatched cottage seen in profile with triangular gable and high chimney; it is surrounded by trees and overhung by clouds. The decoration is partially faded in places.
