Dessert plate reproduction
The plate is complete. It is circular in shape, with an undulating rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards; the wall is low and curves towards the bottom, which is slightly domed. On the reverse, the plate rests on a slightly concave base, with an angular junction with the wall. There are three pernette marks arranged in a triangle below the base. There is an intaglio mark under the base: D.G.CARPENTIER 96; the decoration is molded and painted. The molded decoration is visible on the marli. It consists of various motifs repeated in alternation, including areas of basketwork and beaded latticework delineated by scrolls and decorated with a rider seen in profile, an ensemble composed of a cannon, drum and pennants, and an eagle with outstretched wings; these are separated by three free areas with inscriptions in two registers: SUCCESS TO THE KING OF PRUSSIA AND HIS FORCES. The front of the plate is covered with a mottled iron oxide glaze. The back is covered with a similar glaze.
