Dessert plate

The plate is circular with a plain rim. It is complete and massive. The rim is thick and slightly rounded. The rim slopes inwards and is slightly concave; the wall is curved and the base is flat. On the reverse, the wall curves down to form a massive ring foot. The bottom is recessed and flat. There are painted markings under the bottom: a cross in black, the numbers 1721 in orange, followed by a symbol: a cross with a dot. There are traces of soot on the reverse of the plate. The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome and overglaze gilding; it is floral in style. The polychrome decoration is painted in orange, green, yellow and black. It is found near the rim, on the marli, on the inner wall and bottom center, and on the outer wall. Near the inner rim is an orange-painted braid composed of a row of rhombuses, the inside of which is decorated with a rosette in reserve on a background of orange-painted radiating lines. This latticework is interrupted by five flowers with two long petals in reserve, painted in gilding, as well as by similar half-flowers placed alternately near the edge of the braid. The border is adorned with four sets of polychrome leafy stems and flowers arranged in a cross. The wall is adorned with a braid encircled by a double line of staggered rows of alveoli and small squares painted orange, with a central flower in reserve painted in succession and gold. This braid is interrupted by four lake scenes with mountains in polychrome, two pairs with slight variations between them; all are framed by lobed arched bands. The central motif is a leafy, flowering stem, painted in orange, green and black. Some areas of the decoration are slightly faded. The outer wall features three sets of long, flowering, leafy stems, painted orange with gold highlights.
