Dessert plate

The plate is complete. It is circular in shape with a wavy rim. The rim is thick and slightly domed. The marli slopes slightly inwards; the wall is curved and the base is flat, without a foot. There are three traces of a pernette in a triangular pattern on the reverse of the flange; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome over glaze; it is floral in style. The molded decoration is found on the marli near the rim, in the form of small undulations that correspond to the undulations around the rim. The polychrome decoration is painted in orange, blue, green, yellow, brown and black. It is found near the rim, on the border, on the wall and in the center of the inner background. Near the rim is a double blue line. The marli’s main decoration is made up of two almost identical sets, placed crosswise and alternating. Each set consists of a two-winged geometric element painted blue with yellow highlights and sitting on the wall braid; below the wings are two black-painted stems adorned with green-painted leaves and yellow-hearted flowers painted blue, red or brown. The wall is adorned with a braid traced in blue and decorated with a row of lozenges topped with pearls, traced and painted in red; the center of the braid is adorned with a rosette painted in red and yellow. This latticework is interrupted by four flowers with red petals and yellow hearts, flanked by black stems with green-painted leaves; all are encircled by three aligned bands, curved in an arc, and painted in red, green and yellow. The central decoration is encircled by a blue-painted ring; it consists of an uneven terrace painted blue with yellow highlights, and with two yellow-painted areas adorned with sloping brown lines. The stems are painted black, some with yellow highlights, the leaves are outlined in black and painted green, while the flowers, probably carnations, are painted blue, red and brown; those in blue have yellow highlights. To the right is a fence, consisting of a central post and two angled compartments, painted blue with yellow highlights; the compartments are closed by a trellis painted orange.
