Hat child
Small Chinese tiger hat. On the tiger’s forehead is the Chinese character “wang” for “roi”. Birds and flowers are embroidered on a gold leaf on the black silk sides of the tiger; more delicate embroidery is done directly on the blue silk brocade back and on the rear wind flap; the center of the flap has a single cricket. Red brocade silk lining. Among the protective animals depicted on children’s hats, the tiger is the most popular. Considered the king of animals, this feline has the power to detect and even devour evil spirits that might try to take over children.
