Hat child

Black Han-style Chinese hat with representation of a tiger with a large nose. Gold embroidery. Whiskers of stiff white hair, possibly made from horsehair? Bright red silk ears embroidered with flowers. Gold-wrapped thread spiral motifs throughout. More butterfly/flower embroidery at the top and a colorful band embroidered on the back. Mouth-blown glass beads hang from the tassel at the tail, while a small piece of carved jade is attached to the mouth. Lined with printed cotton. Among the protective animals depicted on children’s hats, the tiger is the most popular. Considered the king of animals, this feline has the power to detect and even devour evil spirits that might try to take over children.
