Gin bottle

The bottle is complete and retains its original cork. It is cylindrical in shape, with a rounded shoulder and flat top; the neck is cylindrical, short and straight. The neck has a swollen lip with a flat, narrow top. The base is beveled. The base is very slightly domed. The body is beige in color, covered with a brown coating and a colorless salt glaze, giving it a shiny appearance. There are two intaglio marks on the outer wall, at the top and near the base. The upper mark is on two registers: ERVEN LUCAS BOLS AMSTERDAM. The lower mark is the same: 1.0 L M.K.M. The bottle has three white paper labels with text printed in black and red, glued to its wall: one on the shoulder, and two, superimposed, on its wall. The one on the shoulder is marked in three registers: LUCAS BOLS FABRIEK t LOOTSJE ANNO 1575. The larger one, glued to the wall, features text in seven registers: Z.O. GENEVER BOLS (text in Dutch) amsterdam DEN 1 January 1875. BOLS ROYAL DISTILLERIES, HOLLAND INH. 100 cl. PRODUCE OF HOLLAND ALC. 375% 1 l 35.2 FL. OZS. 66 BR. PROOF 75 U.S. PROOF 37 G.L. The other label shows the coat of arms of the King of the Netherlands surmounting: by Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands. Right: BOLS Very Old Genever. The cork features a black plastic head and a cork post; the top of the head is embossed: ERVEN LUCAS BOLS ANNO 1575 ; None, except the dark brown coating that covers the entire surface decorates the bottle; the salt glaze gives the surface a shiny appearance.
