Compotier
The compotier is complete; there is some enamel loss around the rim, particularly at the corners, and on the face. The compotier is circular with a wavy outline. In cross-section, the wing is slightly inclined, and the wall slopes towards the bottom, before curving towards the flat bottom. The bottom rests on an annular foot with a truncated cone-shaped cross-section. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a bluish-white glaze; the foot is unglazed. There are smudges of enamel under the compotier, near the rim, as well as chips under the base and a few small holes in the enamel on the reverse. Three traces of linear and triangular pernettes are visible under the wall. The foot is pierced by two aligned circular holes, the inner wall of which is covered with enamel. There are areas of amati enamel on the inner base ; The decoration is hand-painted in blue. It was traced and painted in blue underglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and floral basket type. The decoration is painted on the wing and in the center of the background. The wing is decorated with a braid. The braid is decorated with two alternating motifs. One is in reserve on a blue-painted background: it consists of mirrored elements composed of a central half-flower surrounded by two quarter-flowers between scrolls; the right scroll is decorated with a quarter-flower. These flowers are adorned with blue radiating lines. The other motif is a latticework of three rows of pearls, painted in blue. This is the motif known as fish scales. These two motifs are separated by a blue-painted half-flower, set in two blue-painted bands, while the sides are in reserve. The background is decorated with a flowery basket within a ring. The basket is truncated cone-shaped, with a flat swollen bottom and a horizontal swollen rim; it is traced and partially filled with a blue-painted latticework; the basket’s rendering imitates rattan. From the top of the basket emerges a central half-flower flanked by two flowers in a row; these are surrounded by leafy plant stems, and all these trimmings are traced and painted in blue. The basket rests on a sort of ironwork-like support, the elements of which are mirrored: two acanthus leaves curved upwards. The leaves are traced and painted blue. The underside of the basket features a downward-pointing plant motif with a pearl, traced and painted blue. The basket is surrounded by a ring of alternating leafy plant stems and pearls. Curved plant stems and pearls are traced and painted in blue.
