Compotier
The compotier is complete; there is some enamel loss around the rim, particularly at the corners, and on the face. The compotier is circular with an undulating rim. In cross-section, the wing is almost flat, and the wall slopes towards the bottom, before curving towards the flat base. The bottom rests on an annular foot with a truncated cone-shaped cross-section. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a bluish-white glaze; the foot is unglazed. There are smudges of enamel under the compotier, near the rim, as well as chips under the base and a few small holes in the enamel on the reverse. Three traces of linear and triangular pernettes are visible under the wall. The foot is pierced by two aligned circular holes, the inner wall of which is covered with enamel. There are areas of amati glaze on the inner base and numerous small linear marks ; The decoration is hand-painted in bichromy. It has been traced and painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and floral basket type. The decoration is painted on the wing and in the center of the background. The wing is decorated with a braid. The braid is decorated with three alternating motifs. One is in reserve on a blue-painted background: it consists of a scroll flanked by a quarter of a flower. The flower is adorned with red radiating lines. The other motif is a latticework drawn in red and trimmed with blue-painted pearls. These two motifs are separated by a half-flower traced in red with a blue-painted core; it is set in two blue-painted bands and the sides are in reserve. The background features a flowering basket within a ring. The basket has a truncated cone shape on a flat swollen base and a flat swollen rim; it is outlined in blue and partially filled with a latticework painted red; the basket’s rendering imitates rattan. From the top of the basket emerges a central half-flower framed by two leaves; these are surrounded by leafy plant stems and grapes. The flowers are outlined in blue and partially filled with red radiating lines, while the leaves, curved plant stems and grapes are painted blue. Two red tendrils hang from either side of the basket. The basket rests on a base imitating tawny feet, traced in blue and adorned with dashes traced in red; itself resting on a horizontal terrace made of two superimposed lines painted in blue. The basket is surrounded by a ring of alternating ovals and small lozenges. The lozenges are drawn and painted in blue, while the ovals are drawn in red and decorated with two off-center dashes painted in blue.
