Writing case
The writing case is complete, with small areas of enamel missing from the corners in particular. It is rectangular in shape on two levels, with a rectangular top and front lower receptacle. The top is flat and its front central edge is advanced in an arc. In cross-section, the rim of the top is bulging. The walls are straight, and the base is slightly recessed. The receptacle has raised side walls, lower at the front, and a flat base; the center of the front wall is domed. The center of the top is pierced by two large circular openings; near the corners in the center, there are six small circular openings arranged in a rectangle. The underside is flat, resting on four small rectangular feet whose fulcrum is unglazed. The body is pinkish-beige with quartz inclusions. The glaze is white and shiny. The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome blue underglaze, and probably green, yellow, orange and violet overglaze. It is floral in style. The decoration is applied to the top of the inkwell and its outer walls. The top is decorated with four similar crosses outlined in violet and trimmed with blue beads, arranged in an uneven rectangle; a leafy stem outlined in violet and painted green is placed near a small circular opening. At the center of the front edge, one of the small circular openings is surrounded by similar holes, the outline of which is painted blue, in imitation of a flower. The periphery of the small circular openings is decorated with a fillet traced in violet, while their inner face is painted orange. The vertical wall and bottom of the front receptacle are adorned with painted motifs similar to those on the top, i.e. a central leafy stem bordered by two crosses. Three aligned leafy stems adorn the front wall of this receptacle. The side walls of the writing case feature two similar leafy stems with a blue-painted flower, while the back wall features leafy stems with a large blue-painted flower with a yellow heart.
