Vase

The vase is complete; there is a vertical crack which has been reinforced with glue. It is circular in shape. In cross-section, the vase has the shape of an inverted baluster: the wall is tapered towards the sock, while the shoulder is rounded. The neck is short and straight, with a domed top. The base of the wall is narrowed and rests on a foot with a straight, elevated rim. The base is wide and free of glaze. The bottom is recessed and flat. There is a circular label glued under the base, with a green and red border: Hudson’s Bay Company Compagnie d’Hudson de la Baie Toronto, Canada, M5H 2Y4 Made in Thailand.; The decoration is hand-painted underglaze in blue; it is of the vegetal type. The decoration is distributed on the neck and outer wall. The neck is painted with a wide band, followed by a fillet, as are the base and foot. The wall is covered with leafy stems traced and painted in blue. The centers of two of the opposite walls are in reserve and adorned with a large flower traced in blue.
