Historical context

This large tobacco cabinet comes from the Henri Poupart ltée tobacconist’s shop, a Montreal institution long established on Sainte-Catherine Street West. Founded in 1905, this tobacco house operated throughout the 20th century, supplying pipes, cigars, cigarettes and tobacco of all kinds to smokers in Montreal and beyond.
