Teapot holder
The stand is complete; some breaks have been repaired with glue. It is hexagonal in shape, with an undulating rim. In cross-section, it has a flared bottom and wall with a flat top. The decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome enamels of pink, orange, green, violet and black, with gold highlights, over glaze. The molded decoration is visible on the top of the rim and on the wall: the top is corrugated, and the wall is decorated with small vertical convex ribs. The painted decoration is figurative and scenic, in the Famille rose style. The decoration is painted on the underside of the inner wall and on the inner background. On the inner wall, it consists of a stripe in orange, decorated with two alternately repeated motifs. One motif is bordered by double wavy lines, traced in orange and painted in gold; they border stems traced in black with flowers traced in orange. The other motif features a largely faded gold background, with a central medallion in reserve; it is outlined with a double orange fillet and painted gold; it surrounds leafy, flowering stems outlined in black. The background decoration is bordered by an orange fillet with gilding. It features an interior scene with Oriental-style women and children, table, bench, jar and high tripod support, outlined in black and painted with enamels. The women are dressed in long tunics painted blue, pink and green, while the children are in orange, purple and green.
