Teapot
The teapot is complete; some cracks and breaks at the handle and spout have been repaired with metal studs. It is globular in shape, with a rounded shoulder and a flat top, from the center of which emerges a slightly tapered neck at the top; the top is flat and free of glaze. The base is straight and the foot is annular; its fulcrum is flat and glaze-free. The bottom is recessed and flat. The teapot is fitted with a vertical handle of oval cross-section, the ends of which are attached to the wall. Opposite the handle is a spout, circular in cross-section, tapered and inclined, with a bevelled end. The spout communicates with the wall by means of three circular holes arranged in a triangle, the bridge of which is broken. Of the five pairs of holes drilled on the wall and base of the spout, three pairs still hold the ends of as many copper metal studs. The sides of the handle are each pierced by a pair of holes into which the ends of two copper metal spikes are inserted ; The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and polychrome enamels in pink, green, red, brown and white overglaze, with gold highlights, in the Famille rose style. It is of the scenic type. The decoration is visible on the shoulder and wall. The blue decoration is visible on the shoulder; it consists of a braid underlined by a fillet and trimmed with a row of oblique lines arranged in mirror image. The decoration on the two opposite walls is identical, in a blue double-lobed polylobed medallion; it also features a leafy, flowering tree, painted and outlined in blue. On either side of the spout, the wall is decorated with four flowering, leafy stems arranged in a square, while at its junction with the spout, it is adorned with two leaves whose veins are outlined in blue. The same motifs are found on the wall on the handle side, except that the wall has four leaves on either side of the two handle segments. In the medallions, the decoration on the opposite walls consists of an outdoor scene, with a woman and child in front of a table, with, in the background, a house with its roof traced in red and featuring a window with blind, and a fence with a shrub with leaves traced in brown and painted green. Most of the elements are drawn in black; the woman is dressed in a pink-painted tunic, and the child in an orange garment, while the table and fence feature white-painted highlights. The opposite walls, at their junction with the handle and spout, are decorated with two superimposed medallions outlined in red; each houses a leafy, flowering stem; the stems are outlined in brown; the leaves are outlined in brown and painted green, while the flowers are painted pink and red. The space between the medallions is covered with flecks of gilding.
