Teapot

The teapot is complete. It is globular in shape, with a rounded shoulder and a flat top, from the center of which emerges a sock-shaped neck. The base is straight and the foot is solid; the underside is flat and unglazed. The teapot has a vertical handle with a half-oval cross-section, the upper end of which is attached to the shoulder, while the other is attached to the wall and ends in an oval tail. Opposite the handle is a pouring spout; circular in cross-section, it is attached to the wall over its entire height, curving outwards with a bevelled end. The spout communicates with the wall through an almost circular hole. The body is beige in color and covered with a shiny white enamel. The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze. It features lambrequins. The painted decoration is visible on the outer wall, as well as on the spout and handle. The decoration is traced and painted in pale and dark blue. The decoration on the outer wall is repeated on the opposite walls and is surrounded by a double fillet. Between the handle and the spout, the decoration is composed of elements mirrored from a central element; the latter is a blue-background leafy lambrequin, decorated in reserve with scrolls and leaves adorned with lines. The mantling is edged with acanthus leaves, and a plant motif separates it from another acanthus-leaf scroll in reserve. Beaded stars are painted on the lower part of the wall. Solid triangles border the spout and handle on the lower fillet. The face of the handle is decorated with a row of large superimposed lines, while the sides are adorned with interrupted lines. The spout is adorned with a continuation.
