Teapot

The teapot is almost complete, with only the spout end missing, and a long vertical crack running along the wall, continuing under the base. The teapot is circular. In cross-section, the wall is domed, with a rounded shoulder and a flared rim that is higher on the spout side (Parapet in English); the inner base of the neck features a small circular tray. The teapot rests on a small, rounded foot; the base is recessed and flat. The spout is inclined, tubular in shape, tapering towards the end, with a slight plateau at mid-length. The handle is vertical and oval in cross-section; its ends are turned downwards; the upper one rests on the shoulder, while the other flares out to rest on the wall. The underside of the base features slight concentric rings; the decoration is probably lathe-worked and molded. The lathe decoration is visible on the outer wall, while the molded decoration is visible on the neck and handle. On the wall, the decoration consists of small vertical ribs, separated at mid-height by a narrow, undecorated band. On the upper half of the wall, the ribs decrease in length towards the neck and are decorated with a thin raised fillet, the number of which increases below the neck; similar decoration is visible on the lower half, without the number of fillets increasing. The neck is flared and has a wavy top. The handle features a plant motif molded in relief on its top and at its lower end, where it joins the wall; its outer face is also decorated with slightly deformed vertical grooves.
