Teapot

The teapot is complete, except for a small break on the rim. The teapot is circular in cross-section, tapering slightly towards the top. The rim is swollen and has a ring-shaped tray inside. The base is straight and the foot is in line with the wall; the fulcrum is slightly domed. The bottom is recessed and flat. The beak is curved like a swan’s neck. It is attached near the mid-point of the wall, and has a horizontal, oval-shaped opening. The handle is vertical and positioned opposite the spout. It is rectangular in shape, with a slightly concave top. In cross-section, the handle is rectangular and has a bulge on its sides. The inner wall of the teapot has a filter made of seven circular holes, six of which form a circle, with a seventh in the center ; The decoration is intrinsic to the object and painted on the glaze. The intrinsic decoration is of the agate type: it consists of two clays of different colors, brown and white, which are mixed together. The decoration is visible both on the outside and inside of the teapot. Fillets of gilding have also been added on the glaze: on the rim of the spout and near its junction with the wall, at the upper and lower junctions of the handle with the wall, halfway up the wall and on the base. There is also gilding on the sides of the handle.
