Teapot
The teapot is complete. It is shaped like a barrel. Its wall is swollen, topped by an angular shoulder and a very short, tapering neck at the top; the top is straight and flat. The inside of the top has a small, flat projection to accommodate a lid. It rests on a small annular foot in line with the wall, whose fulcrum is free of glaze and stained with black matter. The base is recessed and flat; the glaze on the foot, near its junction with the base, has been wiped off. The teapot has a vertical handle; folded down at its upper end, it is attached to the wall below the shoulder. The lower part of the handle is attached to the bottom of the wall. The spout is elongated and tubular; vertical, it curves outwards at mid-height. Attached at the junction of the wall and neck, it tapers towards the top. The beak ends in an off-center V-shaped opening, the front portion being flat. The inner wall, at its junction with the spout, is perforated with six circular holes arranged in an oval shape. There is a mark printed in blue under the base: C, a crescent with uneven cross-hatching ; The decoration is molded, applied by transfer printed and hand-painted; it is blue in color and features the Fence motif. The molded decoration is visible on the handle and spout. Ear-shaped, with a slight lobe near its base, and oval in cross-section, the handle has a slight plateau bulge on its outer face. As for the spout, its base, at the junction with the teapot wall, is poly-lobed, giving it a molded plant-like appearance. The painted decoration is located under the outer rim: it consists of two superimposed horizontal rings, both of which are cast. The printed decoration is visible on the two opposite walls, adjoining the handle and spout, as well as on the pouring spout. The main decoration is applied to the wall and neck: it is the same decoration on both opposite sides. The decoration consists of two distinct areas separated by a stream. The foreground area, on dry land, has as its main element a fence made of a few sections: two are straight, while the others are arranged in a zig-zag pattern. The fence sections are decorated with hatching, with a small, three-lobed opening in the center. A rock borders the fence on the right, while another, with three lobes, adjoins it on the left. Leafy and flowering plant stems of varying scales adjoin the fence, including a long stem that extends upwards and to the left, towards the island; they are cross-hatched. The island is elongated and cross-hatched. It is topped by a hut with a curved straw roof, flanked by three trees; a rock borders the island at water level. Waves made up of horizontal lines strike the island and the rock. At the foot of the island, a stylized plant element and three small rocks emerge, arranged in a triangle. Above the island fly two birds; seen in profile to the left, they follow each other, one wing pointing upwards and the other downwards. The upper part of the teapot’s spout, near the inner rim, is adorned with a small leafy stem. A long leafy stem with a central flower runs the full length of the spout on the outside.
