Sugar bowl

The sugar bowl is complete. It is cylindrical in shape. Its wall is slightly flared towards the rim, which is slightly flared and has a domed top. The wall curves towards the bottom, which is flat. It rests on a ring-shaped foot, the base of which is free of glaze. The bottom is recessed and flat. There is a mark printed in blue below the base: C, a cross-hatched crescent. There are small linear marks on the inner background ; The decoration is painted and applied by transfer printed; it is blue in color with the Fence motif. The painted decoration is visible below the inner rim: it consists of two superimposed fillets. The main decoration, on the outer wall, consists of a fence made up of a few sections: some are straight, while others are arranged in a zigzag pattern. The fence sections are cross-hatched, with a small, three-lobed opening in the center. A rock borders the fence on the right. Leafy and flowering plant stems of varying scales adjoin the fence, including a long stem extending to the left; they are cross-hatched. To the left of the fence is a small terrace made of a wavy line and covered with grass. It joins a long rock with two heads, one of which is topped by three trees, while the other portion is topped by two curved plant stems of reed or bamboo. The other area consists of an elongated, cross-hatched island. It is surmounted by a hut with a domed straw roof, and flanked by three trees, of which only the central one has foliage or thorns; a lobed rock borders the island at water level. Waves made of horizontal lines strike the island and the rock. At the foot of the island, a stylized plant element and three small emerging rocks stand out. At the top of the island fly two birds, seen in profile to the right. Their bodies are elongated and their wings point down and back.
