Stock pot
The pot is complete; there is a small chip missing on the outer rim, and areas of glaze on the bottom and inner wall have disappeared. It is circular in shape. The wall is domed, the shoulder is dropped and the neck is constricted; the rim is high and domed and its top is domed; its inner wall is concave. The wall is tapered towards the base, which is flared. The bottom is flat. The vertical handle is ear-shaped and oval in cross-section; its upper end rests on the shoulder, while the lower portion is folded down and flares out towards the wall. The body is red, well-cooked and hard. The entire pot, with the exception of the lower two-thirds of its outer wall and the underside of the bottom, is covered in green glaze; but there are vertical drips on this area. There are two aligned, hand-engraved marks on the wall: I ± I M; they have not been engraved with the same force, the last two letters having been engraved more deeply ; the decoration is molded and coated. The handle, which has been molded separately, has slight vertical bulges on its face. The rim, on both the inside and outside, has been covered with a white slip. The lower outer two-thirds of the pot are free of glaze.
