Statuette

The statuette is incomplete: the head is broken and missing, as are the ends of the sleeves. This is a female statuette. It is conical and hollow. The statuette is standing, supported by the sock of her dress. The statuette is dressed, probably in a jacket and long dress that cover her completely. The arms are placed at the sides of the body, while the forearms are folded up and resting on the chest; the hands appear to be closed. The sleeves are wide and trimmed with an elongated element, which is broken and missing on each. The body is buff-colored and covered with thick white enamel; the fulcrum is unglazed. There is a black painted mark inside the statuette: N.; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome of black, yellow, green and blue over glaze. The molded decoration covers the entire statuette, from the shoulders to the sock of the dress, with the dress flaring downwards and undulating from the waist. The decoration is visible on the piece of clothing covering the statuette’s shoulders, as well as on its dress. The shoulders and sleeves are each trimmed with a group of yellow painted stripes between two black stripes, and those on the shoulders join at the back to form a V; a yellow stripe is painted at the elbow. The shoulders are also trimmed with a leafy stem, outlined in black and painted green, as is the center of the back. The neckline of the dress is marked by two slanting strokes painted yellow, underlined by a horizontal stroke painted on. The front of the lower part of the dress is adorned with a leafy, flowery stem; traced in black, it is trimmed with sloping leaves in green and yellow and flowers painted in blue and yellow. The sides and back are adorned with a leafy stem outlined in black and painted green. The lower part of the coat features a yellow stripe between two black stripes, followed by a yellow stripe.
