Souvenir globe

Commemorative object mounted on a three-legged wooden base and covered with a thin glass bell. Priest in cassock, cap on head, breviary in hand, standing on a white and gilded two-tiered base. The figure and plinth are molded in plaster. The plinth rests on another plinth draped in silky beige fabric. A banner with the inscription “Souvenir du 26 mai 1892” (Remembrance of May 26, 1892) is affixed to the second plinth, attesting to the purpose of this elaborate assembly. The base of the glass bell is embellished with an attractive braided cord in red and brown. The whole is decorated with various kinds of fabric flowers, a bunch of grapes, wire reeds and fabric maple leaves.
