This burgundy leather-bound hardcover report features a grey-green cloth-covered cover with leather-reinforced corners. The title is written in gold lettering in the center of the front cover. Maps are folded inside. Maps, reports, estimates, etc. concerning improvements to be made in the navigation of the St. Lawrence River and the project to build a canal linking the Suint-Laurent River and Lake Champlain submitted to the Legislative Assembly in 1855. The six maps are titled in English: No. 1: Survey of a portion of the Galoppe Rapids. No. 2: Survey of a portion of the North Channel of the Long Sault No. 3: Survey of a portion of the River St Lawrence between Lake SL Francis and Pointe au Diable, including the Coteau Rapids. No. 4: Survey of a portion of the River St. Lawrence between Pointe au Diable and Pointe au Moulin, including the Cedar Rapids. No. 5: Survey of a portion of the River St. Lawrence between Pointe au Moulin and Lake St. Louis, including the Cascades Rapids. No.6: Plan of River St. Lawrence between Prescott and Montreal showing the rapids and provincial canais to improve the navigation. Imposing source of information on marine navigation in Canada.
