Punch bowl

The bowl is complete, with a crack in the center of the bottom. It is circular in shape. Its wall is slightly flared, with a straight rim and domed top. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is flat. It rests on a solid ring-shaped foot, whose beveled base is free of glaze; the bottom is recessed and flat, and has been repainted; The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze, with touches of gilding, in the Imari style. It is of the lacustrian type. The painted decoration is visible under the rim and on the inner base, as well as on the outer wall. Under the rim, it consists of a braid traced in blue and outlined with a line; it is trimmed with a double lattice traced in red, which is regularly interrupted by a plant and floral motif traced and painted in blue with red additions, and this decoration lies between arched curved bands that are traced and painted in blue with red additions. The central background features a rocky island with a house, two trees and a shrub, mainly traced and painted in blue with red and gold highlights. The decoration on the outer wall features a long lake scene, composed of two islands linked by a bridge. The main island is rocky and grassy, with a few leafy trees and pines in the center and at either end, as well as a house and a pagoda with a secondary building. There are mountains in the background. This island is linked to another by a long bridge with two supports, on which an individual walks. The other, smaller island is also rocky, but houses only a small building and trees; there are mountains in the background. On the opposite wall, a long, covered boat is maneuvered by two sailors. The movement of the waves is represented by horizontal lines drawn in red. In the sky fly two bird sailboats, drawn in red, with the sun in the center, drawn in red and painted gold. There are slight flaws in the glaze on the inner background.
