Punch bowl
The bowl is complete; some breaks have been repaired with metal studs. The bowl is circular in shape. In profile, it has a slightly flared wall topped by a straight rim. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is flat. The bowl rests on a massive ring-shaped foot, whose beveled base is free of glaze; the bottom is recessed and flat. The outer wall features seven pairs of drilled holes, three of which still retain their copper metal spikes. The underside of the base has three pairs of holes into which three copper metal spikes are inserted, held in place by a white paste ; The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and polychrome enamels in pink, green, orange, violet and black overglaze, in the Famille rose style. It is of the figurative scenic type. It is visible under the inner rim and on the outer wall. The decoration under the inner rim is a wide blue braid underlined by a fillet; it is adorned with a double latticework of diamond-like spikes. The inner base features a leafy stem painted blue and trimmed with a tulip-like flower traced in black and painted pink, bordered by leaves traced in black and painted green. The decoration on the outer wall covers it completely. It consists of a shiny dark blue plaster, decorated with two medallions on opposite sides, and flowers in reserve. The blue background is adorned, below the rim, with six half-flowers in reserve, traced in blue and painted in purple and green. The medallions are oval and wavy. They are decorated with two similar exterior scenes, featuring women sorting flowers placed on a table, near a house surrounded by leafy trees, with a body of water and mountains in the background; children accompany them. The women are dressed in tunics painted green, blue, black and violet, while the children have garments painted violet, yellow and orange. The medallions are trimmed with acanthus leaves, scrolls and grecques outlined in blue and painted orange, and leaves with veins outlined in blue. The space between the medallions is occupied by a spearhead tongue with a blue background, decorated with flowers and leaves in reserve, painted pink, purple, yellow and orange. A brown iron-based plaster covers the top of the bowl.
