Punch bowl

The bowl is complete, with a vertical crack. The bowl is circular in shape. In profile, the wall is slightly flared at the top, topped by a straight rim. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is flat. The bowl rests on a massive ring-shaped foot, whose beveled base is free of glaze; the bottom is recessed and flat. The glaze is thin and dull; the decoration is hand-painted in pink, blue, green and orange polychrome enamels over glaze, in the Famille rose style. The decoration is floral. It is visible under the inner rim and on the outer wall. The decoration under the inner rim is a straight line in orange, on which a row of curved lines finished with a pearl is painted, bordering a row of semicircles. The inner background features a flower painted pink, bordered by leaves drawn in black and painted green. The outer rim is decorated with a row of oval medallions of two different types, repeated alternately; they are bordered at the top by a fillet traced in black. One is made of butted acanthus leaves painted pink; it surrounds a flower painted pink and bordered by leaves outlined in black and painted green. The other is made of two long butted acanthus leaves painted blue; the medallion is adorned with a beaded latticework traced in violet on a pink background. The wall is adorned with two pairs of flower groups, repeated in alternation. The larger one features flowers painted pink, blue and orange, surrounded by leaves traced in black and painted green, while the smaller one is identical to the pink flower on the inner background. A brown iron-based coating covers the top of the bowl.
