Punch bowl

The bowl is complete; it has a few breaks, which have been repaired with plaster collar. The bowl is circular in shape. In profile, it has a wall that flares slightly at the top, topped by a slightly flared rim. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is slightly domed. The bowl rests on a solid ring-shaped foot, the base of which is free of glaze. There are wear marks on the inner base. Much of the glaze on the top has disappeared ; The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome blue underglaze, followed by iron red, green and yellow overglaze. It is found on the outside of the bowl, as well as on the inside rim and bottom. The decoration is a Chinese lake scene with pavilions. On the outer wall, the décor consists of a main scene and a secondary scene on opposite walls. The first features terraces in blue, yellow and red, with grasslands painted in red and yellow. The upper terrace supports a pavilion traced in red and yellow, with a double-sloped roof and pillars at the ends. It is surrounded by trees painted in green, yellow and red, including a willow tree, and a small pillared building. There are sailboats on the water, painted red and yellow, and mountains painted blue and green in the background. The other is also made up of terraces outlined in blue, on top of which is a thatched hut outlined in red and painted yellow, surrounded by trees outlined in red with green leaves. The braid under the inner rim is painted blue and decorated with two rows of half-oval Sgraffito motifs. The inner background of the bowl, painted blue, features terraces and a thatched hut with trees.
