Plate

The plate is complete; a break has been repaired with glue. It is circular with a plain rim. On the front, the rim is narrow and inclined towards the bottom, and the low wall curves towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, the plate is truncated cone-shaped with a small, flat central base. The reverse glaze is pitted with small holes. The body is beige, and the object is covered with a bluish-white enamel. There are three pernette marks arranged in a triangle on the reverse. The enamel on the front is shiny. The enamel around the rim has partially disappeared ; The decoration is hand-painted in cobalt blue, underglaze. It is of the scenic plant type, with a flowerpot. The decoration is found on both the rim and the base. The decoration on the marli is a broad braid with a blue background, which has been scraped to produce curved lines. The background motif is encircled by a double ring surrounded by a row of Ruyi heads, and features a plant pot. The pot has an oval wall, resting on three feet, with two vertical handles and a short neck ending in a long, flat rim. It has a high, inverted U-shaped handle with a ribbon tied at the top. The wide rim features mirrored flowers on either side of a central flower, as well as leafy stems and slender vertical stems.
