Plate
The plate is complete; there is some missing enamel around the rim, and one break has been repaired with iron studs. The plate is circular, with a plain rim. In cross-section, the marli, which is inclined towards the bottom and slightly concave, is slightly swollen near the rim; the wall is very low and curved towards the bottom, which is slightly domed. On the reverse side, the plate has a large, flat bottom that merges with the wall. The wall is flared and the marli is flared and rounded. The body is beige in color and covered with a glossy white glaze. Three traces of linear, triangular beads are visible under the marli. The enamel is slightly flawed. The support point and bottom of the plate show signs of wear. The inner base of the plate shows small linear marks. On the reverse, there are three pairs of drilled holes, each holding a spike made from a double iron rod and held in place by a white paste. Some of these holes are visible on the face of the plate ; The decoration is hand-painted in underglaze blue. It is floral in style. The decoration is painted on the marli and on the background. The border is decorated with a braid edged with a fillet. It features three different, alternating motifs. One motif consists of a row of inclined sticks with tenons. Another is a stylized central half-flower bordered by leafy stems; this motif is framed by double arcs. The final motif consists of two rows of half-ovals, with blue-painted core and radiating lines. The background is adorned with a monogram made up of two identical letters arranged in a mirror-like fashion; they are embellished with acanthus leaves. They are surmounted by a marquis’s crown. Below the monogram is a trifoliate motif.
