Plate
The plate is complete, with a few cracks. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is low and the bottom is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small milled foot that is free of glaze ; The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze. It is of the Chinese garden type. The painted decoration is visible on the inner rim and background, as well as on the reverse. The decoration occupies the entire width of the marli, and consists of a wide braid with a blue-painted background, decorated with a latticework pattern in dark blue. The background features four long rectangular cartouches with convex ends, in reserve and arranged crosswise; they are adorned with two pairs of long, leafy, flowering plant groups, with dark-blue-painted leaves, placed alternately. The central decoration is encircled by a ring; it consists of a huge willow tree at the foot of which are various leafy and flowering plants, one of which supports a large peony-like flower. The reverse of the border is adorned with two wavy, stylized stems.
