Plate

The plate is complete; there is a lack of glaze around the rim and a long crack. The plate is circular in shape, with an undulating rim. In cross-section, the rim is in line with the marli, which slopes towards the bottom; the wall is very low and curved towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, the plate has a slightly concave bottom and is truncated cone-shaped. The base of the plate is rounded. The body is pinkish-beige and covered with a bluish-white glaze. Three traces of linear, triangular beads are visible under the marli. There are slight flaws in the enamel, including enamel holes on the reverse. The base of the plate shows signs of wear. The inner base of the plate shows small linear marks and signs of wear; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome blue underglaze, and red, yellow, green, orange and black overglaze. The painted decoration is floral. The molded decoration is visible around the rim of the plate. The painted decoration is applied to the marli and the inner base. The border is decorated with a wavy braid featuring two alternately repeated motifs. The braid is outlined in black and trimmed with a trellis outlined in green. One of the motifs features a central trifoliate element outlined in orange with continuous veins and a heart painted yellow with black dots, from which hang three leafy stems outlined in black and painted green. From this central motif extend two long scrolls in black and yellow, which border the braid; two stems with three leaves hang from them. The other motif is a ring traced in orange that joins two scroll heads; from this ring hangs a blue-painted pearl. The background is decorated with a leafy, flowering stem in black. The leaves are painted green and yellow, while the five-petal flowers are painted blue, yellow and orange, and there is a black tendril. The glaze is glossy.
