Historical context
The 1967 World’s Fair was a major event in Montreal’s history. This ambitious project, developed by the City of Montreal with the support of the provincial and federal governments, was part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. The exhibition welcomed 62 nations and over 50 million visitors between April and October 1967.
