Tirelire portable autrichienne de la société d’assurance-vie française Le Phénix. Le boîtier métallique est de forme rectangulaire. Il possède une poignée sur la face supérieure et une fente sur le côté. Sur le devant se trouvent une serrure et une plaque comportant les inscriptions de l’institution.

Historical context
En Autriche, la première caisse d’épargne est fondée en 1819. Il s’agit de la Caisse d’Épargne de Leopoldstadt, à Vienne. Elle fait partie d’un mouvement social européen initié en Grande-Bretagne avec la création de la Ruthwell Savings Bank en 1810. La société d’assurance-vie Le Phénix est, elle, fondée en 1844 en France et possède des succursales à l’étranger, dont une en Autriche.
