Portable piggy bank from the Swiss savings bank HYSPA. The metal case is oval-shaped and blue in color. It has a handle and a slot on the top. On the front, a red and white plate features the institution’s lettering.

Historical context
Au début du 20e siècle, beaucoup d’institutions financières adoptent le système étasunien des tirelires. Ces outils promotionnels de l’épargne sont la propriété de la banque et sont loués aux déposants afin qu’ils puissent les remplir et déposer leurs épargnes en banques. En Suisse, les tirelires sont implantées par des fabricants étasuniens dès 1905 dans une quinzaine de banques d’épargne.
