Oiler

The oil set is complete. It is cylindrical in shape, with a bulging wall, a rounded shoulder and a straight neck topped by a straight rim with a flat top; the rim is fitted with a small oval pouring spout. It rests on a full flared foot, with a flat, unglazed underside. It also has a vertical, half-oval handle, the ends of which rest on the neck and wall; the lower end has a small tail ; The decoration is hand-painted in underglaze blue; it is drawn in very dark blue and painted in blue. It is of the compartmented braid type. The painted decoration is visible on the neck and outer wall, on the foot and on the handle. The upper part of the neck is decorated with a compartmented fillet. The decoration is in reserve on a blue-painted background: in the center, below the spout, it consists of a half-flower between two pairs of scrolls bordered by two half-leaves; these flowers and leaves are adorned with radiating lines. These motifs are delimited by a half-leaf, set in two vertical bands painted blue, while the sides are in reserve. The base of the neck is decorated with a row of alternating plant motifs, separated by an oval. The wall, at mid-height, is adorned with a compartmentalized braid composed of three alternately repeated elements. One consists of three rows of beaded ovals, imitating fish scales. The other motif is in reserve on a blue-painted background: it consists of a half-flower between two volutes bordered by two half-leaves; these flowers and leaves are adorned with radiating lines. These two motifs are separated by a half-flower, set in two vertical bands painted blue, while the sides are in reserve. The braid is underlined by a fillet. The foot is decorated with a blue band. The face of the handle is decorated with superimposed scrolls, while its sides are adorned with two fillets. The wall decoration has run off in one place.
